Diving
The sea around the Ligurian Riviera is suitable for all types of underwater activities, from free diving to underwater diving with air tanks to admire the marine animal and plant life. The seabed leaves shipwreck and archeology enthusiasts spoilt for choice.

The most interesting dives in the area include the “Haven”, the Pifferaio, the Canalone, the Secca delle spugne and the Gemelli.

Climbing
In Liguria there are lots of climbing schools for free climbing enthusiasts. Finale Ligure is one of the most popular and most beautiful climbing areas in the North east with its Pink limestone rock faces.

There are almost 5000 climbing routes between Finale Ligure, Albenga, Toirano and the val Pennavaire.

Rafting
The rivers in Luiguria are perfect for river sports such as hydrospeed, canoeing, kayaking and rafting.
Itineraries may be chosen according to the river difficulty.

Horse riding and horse riding holidays in Liguria
The Liguria Riviera has a wonderful landscape and interesting itineraries for horse riding enthusiasts. There are numerous specialized centers that offer assistance and itineraries ranging from the low lying coastal area to the shady beech forests of the hinterland.

Paragliding
One of the most fascinating modern sports is paragliding. The simplest and lightest way for a human to fly.
It is a highly practicable sport offering participants the chance to spend hours gliding softly on the delicate coastal air currents.

Some of the most spectacular take off points are around the Berteggi, Varigotti and Finale Ligure areas.

The Riviera
The entire coastal landscape is a stunning contrast between the blue of the sea and the intense green of the olive and pine groves. The sea and land along the Riviera offer a vast selection of itineraries.

Celle and Varazze are just two of the ancient marine villages , with their narrow streets and colourful houses, well worth visiting. Nearby Noli is an ancient fortress town with high towers and a surrounding wall that hides ancient porticoes and alleyways. There is a beach where local fishermen still sell fresh fish early in the morning.
The centre of Albenga is also well worth a visit. It is a medieval town, home to the Cathedral of San Michele, the Baptistry with its Byzantine mosaics, the small Piazza dei Leoni and the local family towers.
Art lovers should not pass up the chance to visit Albisola, where 1400, the traditional ceramics of the same name are produced and have been part of the local tradition since 1400. The inland area around Savona is home to Altare, a town that is traditionally famous for its artistic glassware.
Visitors, wandering through the “carruggi” typical ligurian streets or along the shoreline can enjoy the scents of Liguria: the focaccia bread, the pesto sauce, the fresh fish and basil and taste the local white and red wines such as Pigato and Fermentino and Rossese.
The climate on the Riviera is excellent all year round especially between September and June , when the weather is mild and the beaches are less crowded. In fact Liguria is a popular winter holiday destination thanks to its incredibly mild winter temperatures, reduced thermal range, high insulation and low rainfall.
